In the time of mass extinctions and loss of natural habitat, humanity is doing its best to capture just a glimpse of authenticity in virtual garden substitutes, radically reducing the mystical holiness of nature into scientific readings. In the Church of Progress we worship a pale imitation while the living is questioned and killed in holy sacrifice; desperately attempting to save any fragments of natural experience.
Real-time readings from sensor data connected to a plant and its environment are used to influence a simulation of plant growth in the computer. Some data is saved creating histograms and time-lapses. The algorithm behind the simulation has itself grown from observations of nature, specifically competition for sunlight.
