look in | look out

In look in | look out the audience is faced with a computer that only accepts the gentlest of beings into its world. All interaction between human and machine happens through the eyes of the computer, the webcam video feed. Flowing alien eyes stare at you until you are deemed worthy of seeing beyond.

By forcing the audience into a new type of engagement with a well known device, the computer, this work has a potential to expose the way technology always forces us into a certain type of interaction, perhaps a Heideggerian new bringing-forth of truth as it lets ”the veil appear as what veils”. The fragile aspect of the work amplifies the perception of the force acting on the computer, invoking the sublime, and the mysterious world of computer inner workings, the computational sublime.
